Green Day was formed 30 years ago in 1986, when, at age 14, Billie Joe Armstrong and Mike Dirnt met up and formed a band called Sweet Children.

It has taken three decades, but the group, which has since transformed into American icons and a global punk phenomenon, finally appeared on The Tonight Show stage last night. Armstrong, Dirnt and Tre Cool performed “Bang Bang” from their new album Revolution Radio and brought the house down.
