Green Day brought the energy when they performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live Monday night (Nov. 21) with two fiery new tracks, “Revolution Radio” and “Bang Bang.”

Both songs are off the band’s new album Revolution Radio, released in October. During their performance, Green Day urged fans to clap along as they launched into the title track.
In a previous interview with Rolling Stone, frontman Billie Joe Armstrong said the song was inspired by a Black Lives Matter protest he took part in New York. “Give me cherry bombs and gasoline” he sings on the track.
They’d also go on to play “Bang Bang,” the most aggressive song on their recent release which is written from the perspective of a mass shooter. For this performance, the band did not insert the line from M.D.C.’s “Born to Die” (“No Trump/ No KKK/ No fascist USA”) like they did during Sunday’s American Music Awards performance.
